What is a wildcard certificate?
With Wildcard certificates, you can protect your website and all your subdomains using a single server certificate.

Wildcard advantages?
Wildcard certificates for sites that have a single domain but have different subdomains (For example, www.mailbox.com.tr, efatura.mailbox.com.tr, ssl.mailbox.com.tr) are available for both cheapness and for each domain. How to create Wildcard CSR?
When creating csr on IIS or Apache, you need to create it as common name * .yourdomain.com.

Valid Wildcard generic name examples are matched with the
1. * .yoursite.com generic name www.siten.com
2. The generic name  *. Yoursite.com is matched with the address www.siteniz.com. Examples of wildcard generic names that are not valid
A. Using * w.siteniz.com for www.siteniz.com
B. Using www.site * .com for www.siten.com
C. www.yoursite for www.siteniz.com. 
Important Notice: The naming convention should always remain the same. If the names of the servers on which you will install Wildcard certificates are made with four name components such as subhost.host.site.com, you should use the same naming as * .host.site.com in your Wildcard certificate.
